In this opening module, you’ll open your heart and mind — as the forest sages did long ago — to go deeper into the Self.

You’ll also consider the importance of community — what it is and why it’s so vital for your spiritual development.

During this first class, you’ll discover:

• The rich meaning and history of the Vedas and the Upanishads
• The consciousness of the Vedas, including the search for harmony in life, the links between the macrocosm of the universe (brahman) and the microcosm of man (atman)… and the reality of unity consciousness
• The wisdom of the forest — and the key to your spiritual community
• Your first guided journey, starting at Kathmandu and ending with a visit to the temple Swayambhunath
• A guided exercise… an offering ritual
• A closing meditation in which you’ll visit the forest rishis and receive their wisdom

In this module you’ll continue exploring the power of Vedic principles as you discover the difference between wants and needs…

You’ll develop your strength of character and cultivate the ability to stay calm even in the midst of chaos. You’ll also meet what the Vedic sages call your inner witness.

In this class, you’ll discover:

• The true meaning of dharma — the cosmic law that underlies both your path in life AND the social order
• The four duties of life, and how to apply them
• The Vedic concept of neti neti — not this, not that
• A guided trek to Namche Bazaar, the staging point for Everest
• A transformative exercise in which you’ll finally acknowledge your personal needs
• A guided meditation: gayatri mantra from Rigveda, the light in the spiritual heart

In this module, you’ll let your inner light shine — to illuminate hidden truths about yourself, your relationships, and your life purpose.

You’ll find out why there’s nothing to fear in the darkness… and how you can use it to nurture your growing spiritual self.

In this session, you’ll explore:

• The divine play of the light and the darkness
• The principles of Vedic Astrology, the science of light
• Vedic “feng shui” to bring light into your surroundings
• What you can learn from the darkness of the cosmic womb
• A guided journey to the trek turning point: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery
• A revealing exercise, wrapping yourself in light for the journey
• Darkness meditation: Hymn of Creation from Rigveda

In this module, Deborah will guide you to ask yourself powerful questions you may not have considered, including:

Are you wise to the ways of your body?

Do you try to control your life through your mind — or do you navigate life through the use of your intuition?

In this session, you’ll boost your intuitive ability and evolve your understanding of true communication and communion with your body and health. You’ll also explore how to utilize the mind/body connection to get and stay healthy.

You’ll discover:

• The principles of Ayurveda — the science of life, and the integration of your body, mind, senses, and soul
• The doshas — vata, pitta, and kapha — the combinations of the elements, and what each dosha needs for balance
• What it’s like to work with a vaidya (Ayurvedic physician)
• Tips for great sleep, the foundation of your health — and for achieving emotional balance with your breath
• A guided journey that takes you on a trek from Tengboche Monastery to Everest Base Camp
• An illuminating exercise to get in touch with your body
• A transformative meditation: The Immortal Swan of the Self

We all know the five senses of sound, touch, sight, taste, and smell, and how they operate on the physical level…

In this final module, you’ll discover the advanced forms of all the ways you interact with your environment — not only on the physical plane, but on higher planes of consciousness as well. You’ll learn to see without eyes, hear without ears, and more.

You’ll discover:

• A journey to return to Kathmandu to study at Pashupatinath temple
• The significance and timeless wisdom of the forest dwellers
• Vedic ecology that recognizes the spirit as central to all life
• The Vedic perspective on climate change
• Essential Vedic spiritual concepts, including the secret life of trees, Narada and the cobbler, and more
• A powerful guided exercise, The Sanctuary, AND a closing meditation among the forest sages and the trees to solidify all you’ve learned

Medicine is the science and practice of establishing the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness.

Contemporary medicine applies biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease,
typically through pharmaceuticals or surgery, but also through therapies as diverse as psychotherapy, external splints and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation, amongst others.

Medicine has been around for thousands of years, during most of which it was an art (an area of skill and knowledge) frequently having connections to the religious and philosophical beliefs of local culture.

For example, a medicine man would apply herbs and say prayers for healing, or an ancient philosopher and physician would apply bloodletting according to the theories of humorism.
In recent centuries, since the advent of modern science, most medicine has become a combination of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science).

While stitching technique for sutures is an art learned through practice.

The knowledge of what happens at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being stitched arises through science.
